My first post and my topic is about the Ancient Greece discus throwing. As I was researching I came up with three questions. Question number one, what specifically types of weights did you have to lift to get strong enough to throw the discus because the discus is pretty heavy. My second question is did you ever get some type of money for playing this sport or playing any sport in general. My last question is did the discus throwers ever wear clothing, because in all the pictures and statues their not wearing any clothing.
Hi there i'm Elijah and this is my first blog about the ancient Greece discus throwing, hope you enjoy. The discus throwing was a of part of the ancient Greece games, the discus was made out of stone but later on it was made out of Bronze, Lead, or Iron. The discus weighed about 1,3-6,6 KG(kilograms), which is heavy to throw. The method of discus throwing was pretty complicated. If you were a right handed thrower you would bring your left foot forward and transfer most of your weight to your right foot then swing your right hand back and forth to pick up speed and then transfer weight to your left foot then with a strong powerful swing you release the discus, if that sounds hard you can bet it was hard. I wanted to pick this topic because I love sports my favorite sport is baseball and when I get older I want to go into the major leagues. I also picked this topic because I was interested and amazed on how cool this sport is and how much strength you have to have to play this sport.
